Diese Frage habe ich mir
gestellt. Seit Jahren pflege ich nicht meine bisherigen beiden Blogs. Diese
Entscheidung hat damit zu tun, dass ich im Dezember 56 Jahre alt sein werde und
ich fühle, dass ich noch nicht meine Aufgaben auf dieser Erde erfüllt habe.
Hier in diesem Blog will ich mehr in die Öffentlichkeit gehe und meine Ansätze,
Thesen und Gedanken zur islamischen Theologie und Geschichte mit anderen
teilen.
Ich bin Ahmed M. F. Abd-Elsalam,
ein ahnungsloser Muslim aus Ägypten, der mit dem Alter von 25 Jahren
beschlossen hat, sein verwöhntes Leben in Ägypten zu verabschieden und auf die
Reise zu gehen, um für offene Fragen, die ihm an seinem Glauben gestört hat,
Antworten zu finden. Die Reise führte ihn nach Halle an der Saale in
Deutschland, wo er begonnen hate Arabistik und Islamwissenschaft im Jahr 1998
an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle zu studieren. Dort erwachte sein
Interesse an historische sozio-anthropologische Phänomene der
gesellschaftlichen Wandlung und ihre Interdependenz mit der Entwicklung
religiöse und politischer Diskurse. 2003 beendete er sein Magister-Studium mit
einer Dissertation zum Amt des mamlukischen Muḥtasib
in Kairo. 2010 verteidigte er seine Promotionsdissertation zum Verhältnis des
beduinischen zum Islamischen Recht.
Danach arbeitete er an der
Außenstelle Kairo des Orient-Instituts Beirut. 2012 wechselte nach Uni Münster,
wo er am Zentrum für Islamische Theologie forschte und Lehrte zu den Fächern
Islamische Geschichte, Hadith, Grundlage der Normenlehre und gegenwärtige
Diskurse im Islamischen Denken.
2021 kehrte Ahmed zum
Orient-Institut Beirut mit Forschungsprojekten zur Umweltethik, Theologie des
Zusammenlebens und Jüdische Rechtsnormen im islamischen Eherecht.

I asked myself this question. I have not
maintained my previous two blogs for years. This decision is influenced by the
fact that I will turn 56 in December, and I feel that I have not yet fulfilled
my duties on this earth. In this blog, I want to go more public and share my
approaches, theses, and thoughts on Islamic theology and history with others.
I am Ahmed M. F. Abd-Elsalam, an unsuspecting
Muslim from Egypt who, at the age of 25, decided to say goodbye to his spoiled
life in Egypt and go on a journey to find answers to open questions that
troubled him about his faith. The journey took him to Halle an der Saale in
Germany, where he began studying Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Martin
Luther University of Halle in 1998. It was there that he became interested in
the historical socio-anthropological phenomena of social change and their
interdependence with the development of religious and political discourses. In
2003, he completed his master's degree with a dissertation on the office of the
Mamluk Muḥtasib in Cairo. In 2010, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the
relationship between Bedouin and Islamic laws.
He then worked at the Cairo branch of the
Orient Institute in Beirut. In 2012, he moved to the University of Münster,
where he researched and taught at the Centre for Islamic Theology in the
subjects of Islamic history, hadith, the basis of norms, and current discourses
in Islamic thought.
In 2021, Ahmed returned to the Orient Institute
Beirut with research projects on environmental ethics, the theology of
coexistence, and Jewish legal norms in Islamic marriage law.
